Consider/Approve Amendment to Board Policy #5.402 – Hepatitis B (HBV) |

Background Information: By request of Ms. Chastity Homra, CSH Coordinator, and Ms. Judy Denman, School Nutrition Supervisor, the Board is asked to amend Policy #5.402 – Hepatitis B (HBV) to include cafeteria personnel. Beginning on line 29, the policy lists those employees who are considered to be at high risk of occupational exposure, thus providing these employees with protective equipment, including HBV vaccinations. As compared to other employees listed within the policy, cafeteria personnel are at high risk of occupational exposure to Hepatitis B. As such, a request is made to include cafeteria personnel within this policy. Staff Recommendation: We recommend the Board adopt the amendment to Board Policy #5.402 – Hepatitis B (HBV) to include cafeteria personnel on second reading. |
